The Joliet Regional Port District has been involved assisting companies develop commercial activities within the 180 square mile in its 5 township jurisdiction since 1957.  The Port District is located at a transportation crossroad of commerce composed with three interstate highway's, I-80, I-55, I-355.   The Des Plaines River/Chicago Ship Canal runs through the center of the District with four major rail lines that hub in Joliet.  The most recent addition to the District's transportation development charter is the acquisition of the Lewis University Airport.  The Joliet Regional Port District assumed ownership of the Lewis University Airport on April 15, 1989.  Since the purchase of the airfield there has been over $80 million dollars invested in the facility in order to meet the needs of corporate aircraft. 

Prime Transportation development property is available in Will County.  The Joliet Regional Port District has worked with the largest and the smallest of companies and industry.
